With this 3D printed spool brackets, you can save space by storing up to five spools of filament over your ZMorph 2.0 SX. They’re very convenient and look really cool!
We know that you usually own and use more than just two spools of filament. That’s why we wanted to give you an additional way of storing your materials while making them easily accessible at the same time. This is why we made 3D printed spool brackets, which you can download for free and attach to your ZMorph 2.0 SX.
Designed by Matt Olczyk, these new 3D printed spool brackets allow you to hang up to five spools of filament over your machine. To make them yourself, start with downloading the STL file linked below and 3D printing two of them with PLA or ABS. We recommend setting at least 3 outer shells and at least 15% of infill. Power raft is not necessary.
To assemble your own 3D printed spool brackets you’ll also need a few items easily accessible in every hardware store: four 20 mm long M4 screws and 500-505 mm long 3/4" PVC pipe (or similar, don’t be afraid to experiment). With an M4 Hex screwdriver unscrew old bolts from your ZMorph 2.0 SX’s top frame and attach the plastic brackets with the new, longer screws.
3D printed spool brackets fit perfectly to the top frame of the machine and look like they were part of the original construction! More importantly, they give you an additional storage space for your filaments, which can be fed to the extruder within seconds.
