In April 2016 we introduced a completely new ZMorph 2.0 SX Multitool 3D Printer with a revised design, improved construction, and hardware innovations like Closed Loop System and magnetically attached worktables. It’s the only such versatile and multi-material machine on the market that can replace at least three other and still fit on your desk.
The machine is currently available globally online and through a strong chain of local distribution in over 50 countries with Japan being the latest addition to this list. The release of ZMorph 2.0 SX also generated a lot of media buzz with The Verge stating that it’s beautiful and “belongs on a spaceship”. Since then we sold a record number of machines which enabled us to grow 300% year-to-year. At the same time, reviews started to emerge.
In vol. 54, the editor of Make magazine wrote that:
The sheer variety of tool heads the ZMorph 2.0 SX provides is stunning, and the results lived up to expectations. (…) If you are looking for a single machine to do it all, look no further.
Digital Trends named our machine The Best for Makers, and All3DP recognized it to be The Best All-in-One multitool 3D printer. At the top of their list ZMorph 2.0 SX replaced… previous S model, which only proves that it’s a worthy successor. Centrum Druku 3D called our machine “very good”.
Bill Loguidice used ZMorph 2.0 SX as an example in his How to Get Started in 3D Printing guide on TechRadar and also made very detailed tests of 3D printing, CNC, and laser abilities of the machine.
In 2016 we also updated ZMorph’s website with a lot of new use cases showing the various ways you can utilize the power of multitool 3D printing. From laser-cut laptop stickers to complex and working Ferris Wheel Bookshelf, ZMorph 2.0 SX takes your creativity where ordinary 3D printers just can’t go.
2016 in desktop 3D printing was all about two-material 3D printing with new machines and solutions present at almost every industry event. We also introduced several improvements and innovations to our DUAL PRO toolhead and dedicated Voxelizer software.
These innovations include higher quality in selective two-material prints like architectural models with transparent parts or detailed medical models printed with water soluble PVA support.
Thanks to the built-in material mixer, DUAL PRO toolhead can also blend colors. We took this ability to the next level with Image Mapping. Using this feature you can place bitmaps on 3D objects and print them in multiple colors.
Check out the video below in which Przemek Jaworski, Founder & CEO of ZMorph, speaks about the two-material 3D printing with ZMorph 2.0 SX.
